Paint a Giant Cardboard Box (Art Studio Diaries #5)

Like I had mentioned earlier, I cleared out a lot of space for my Art Studio, which also meant a lot of big ol’ empty cardboard boxes, that I preserved for the Art Sessions.

I had many interesting cardboard box craft ideas on my Pinterest board, boxes turned into the cutest little houses, buildings, zoos, but when it came to it, I didn’t bother… like… at all. Didn't even paint it white. My “Practical Mom” motto is that setting up should take the least amount of time. I don’t mind scrubbing the floors for god knows how long to clear up a crazy mess, but I *don’t* like investing my time and effort into something unknown. By ‘unknown’ I’m referring to the kids’ reactions: you never know what they fall in love with or completely shun!

So doing nothing paid off! As they really didn’t care. They were happy to see big boxes and all those paints and set to work immediately. They painted, but not all over. A little color here and there. Some hand prints here and there. One box was turned into a dragon, so they’re were eyes painted and the flaps turned into wings. Turned out to be a very interesting AND simple activity!

    1. I know! My theory is that even if a kid doesn't like paint, he/she will def like messy play! Thanks Kathy
